iPhone No Service Solution
Symptom: iPhone can not get any signal. iPhone displays “No Service” on left top of the screen instead of the signal bar. Other functions of iPhone work well except phone call and sms. iPhone is 2G version and is cracked. When it turned to “No service”, the software version is 2.0.0.
PLEASE NOTE:
- The following solution was tested on my iPhone. But I do not guarantee it can also work for your iPhone.
- This solution is only for you reference. I am NOT responsible for any damage of your iPhone. Please take your own risk.
- This solution is done on a PC.
Solution
- Downgrade to 1.1.4
- install itunes 7.5 (uninstall current version first, you would like to backup your music library file)
* Download iTunes 7.5 for Windows (XP/Vista)
* Download iTunes 7.5 for Mac OS X - Put you iPhone into DFU mode
- connect iPhone to PC via cable
- turn off iPhone
- while holding the home button, press power button 10 seconds and then release, still still holding home button until your PC recognizes your iPhone in a DFU mode (a notification appears in your tray icon area)
- Install Apple’s official 1.1.4 firmware with iTunes
* download 1.1.4- Shift- Click the Restore button and choose the firmware file you just downloaded.
- Wait until finish.
- install itunes 7.5 (uninstall current version first, you would like to backup your music library file)
- Use iLiberty+ for unlock (Note that now your baseband is till 2.0, iTunes doesnot downgrade the firmware)
* download - use [En] ZiPhone patched by kIREmK 04.05.04_G for downgrade Baseband
* download En+ZiPhone+Patched+by+kIREmK+04.05.04_G <-try to download here if this link failed: http://iphone-freak.com
* if you can find other to replace ziphone, please try it. I was told ZiPhone may cause damage to the baseband, but I am not sure. At least I did all these, my iPhone came alive again. - Use iliberty+ for unlock (Note that now your baseband should be 1.1.4)
- Use iliberty+ for unlock one more time
- OK. now open your iPhone, go to Settings->general->restore->restore network settings
- wait for about 5 minute, if lucky enough, your signal will come again. If not, do not feel depressed, wait and pray.
* My iphone got signal again after half a day when I almost gave up! - At the beginning, my iPhone’s signal is not stable. Sometimes it turned no signal again. But be patient, after several days, my iPhone became quite stable!
- When your iPhone comes to alive, you can upgrade the firmware to 2.0 again with PwnTool.
Hope everybody enjoy your iPhone!
